Business meetings are held once a month, the 3rd Wednesday, at 7:30 pm.
Our Assembly Patriotically serves the Community throughout the year.

Annual activities include: Memorial Day Color Guard formations, Veterans Day Honor Guard at Beale Cemetary
for deceased veterans along with many other Community patriotic organizations,
Honor Guard at Black History mass celebrated annually at St Marys by Bishop Ricard, Support Pro Life Movement with funds and leadership
Provide Knights in Regalia to March in Community Parades including staffing KofC Floats in the parade march
Patriotic contests for local school children,
New Years' Eve Party, Christmas Party, Religious Appreciation Dinner, Essay Contests,
Wounded Warrior Scholarship Program,
Support of VA Facility (Parker House) at Eglin AFB Florida, Support of Airmans Attic on Eglin,
Support Boy Scouts etc by providing CG/HG at Flag Retirement Ceremonies
buy patriotic theme books and American Flags for libraries and schools,
and other fun filled annual events.
Including Church Activities, Youth Activities, Family Activities, Community Service and Council Activities.

4TH DEGREE NEWS
BROTHER KNIGHTS.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS "GREAT PATRIOTS" ESSAY CONTEST
Contest Director Frank Liberatori of the Father Howard Lesch 4th Degree Assembly # 1564 of the Knights of Columbus recently announced the names of the winner
s of the eighth annual Great American Patriots Essay Contest. The principle of the 4th Degree of this national Catholic fraternal group is patriotism.
The contest was open to all Middle School students in Okaloosa County including private, religious and home schooled. A total of 106 entries were received.
Congratulations to the winners AND all of the entrants. Winning first place for his essay on “Benjamin Franklin” is Chris Rapp from Saint Mary’s School.
Taking second place with an essay on “My Great Uncle Nick “is Sophia Masone from Rocky Bayou Christian School. The third place winner is Jessica Sauvageau,
Saint Mary’s, for her essay on “The Tuskegee Airmen.”The remainder of the top 10% of entries were very close in the scoring with only a few points separating them. The authors are: Nathan Nadeau, Saint Mary’s, “Samuel Adams”; Seth Parker, Saint Mary’s, “Theodore Roosevelt”; Tiffani Souders, Saint Mary’s, “Nellie Tayloe Ross”; Maria Kometer, Home Schooled, “Nathan Hale”; Kandace Jolly, Rocky Bayou Christian, “Molly Pitcher”; Marissa Davis, Saint Mary’s, “Ronald Reagan”; Beth English, Saint Mary’s,“Francis Marion”;
Benjamin Wookey, Rocky Bayou Christian, “Ronald Reagan”; and Shiloh Johns of Rocky Bayou Christian won Honorable Mention for his paper on Deborah Sampson.
The first, second and third place winners will receive respectively $300, $200 and $100 US Savings Bonds as well as a Trophy Plaque.
All the students named received a Certificate of Achievement.
The students were honored at an Awards Ceremony held at the Knights of Columbus Council #4444/Assembly#1564 Meeting Hall located on Carol Avenue in FWB.

There is a change to the original schedule that was sent out in Oct following the By-Laws change to move the
meeting start time from 7:30-7:00PM and to hold meetings only on Thursday evenings.

Sir Knights from the Father Howard J. Lesch Assembly 1564 from Fort Walton Beach Florida form a part of the
color guard at the Black History Month Mass celebrated by Bishop John A. Ricard at St Mary's Cathedral in February 2007.
The Bishop also delivered the homily at the well attended mass.
The color guard was comprised of Sir Knights from the Father Lesch Assembly and the Knights of Peter Claver (Gold Capes).
